Shutdown of Unit 6 at the Bruce B nuclear power plant

In accordance with reporting protocols, Bruce Power informed the CNSC of an event involving Unit 6 of the Bruce B nuclear power plant during a routine safety test. The event led to the release of a small quantity of heavy water in a contained area. The CNSC is satisfied with Bruce Power's precautionary measures.

Preliminary assessments indicate that the event posed no risk to the public or the environment.
