CNSC Request to all dosimetry service licensees pursuant to Subsection 12(2) of the General Nuclear Safety and Control Regulations
As a result of a recent unplanned event at Health Canada’s National Dosimetry Service in which a calculation error was identified, the CNSC is taking steps to ensure that similar errors do not exist in the implementation of dose calculations or algorithms used by dosimetry service licensees. Licensees are requested to conduct testing and validation that demonstrates the results from dose calculations or algorithms are as expected, according to the technical specifications or equivalent, for all dosimetry services, and to report the results of this verification to the CNSC by December 2, 2011.
