Document description

Draft RD/GD-210, Maintenance Programs for Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs) sets out the requirements of the CNSC with regard to maintenance programs for NPPs. An NPP maintenance program consists of policies, processes and procedures that provide direction for maintaining structures, systems or components (SSCs) of the plant.

This document also provides information and guidance on how the requirements may be met.

The scope of the maintenance program covers all SSCs within the bounds of the nuclear power plant. The maintenance efforts applied to each SSC are understood to be commensurate with its importance to safety.

The requirements contained in RD/GD‑210, Maintenance Programs for Nuclear Power Plants were originally published in 2007, as regulatory standard S‑210, Maintenance Programs for Nuclear Power Plants. When approved and published, RD/GD‑210 will replace S‑210.
