Interactive CNSC Quiz: Descriptive text version

See the interactive and printable versions of this game on the games and puzzles page.

The CNSC Quiz is one of several games and puzzles in the CNSC’s educational resources aimed at students aged 14–18. The aim of the game is to correctly answer six multiple-choice questions about the CNSC.

Each question appears on a new page. The possible answers appear, one below another, after the question. A drawing of a girl and a boy are at the top of the screen. In a dialogue balloon, the boy tells the player: “Select the best answers from the available choices.”

To answer, the player clicks on a choice. A hand with a pointing finger appears to the left of the answer. If the answer is right, the hand is green. But there may be several answers to one question. If so, an additional message appears that says: “That’s right, but there’s more!” When the player has answered the question correctly, the following message appears: "That’s right! Here’s the next one…”

If the answer is wrong, the hand is red and the message reads: “Whoops, that’s not it! Try again…” The player keeps trying until they get the right answer.

When the player has figured out all the answers, a new page appears, showing the same girl and boy. The dialogue balloon reads: “Congratulations!”

The page also displays the attempts the player made to answer the six questions, as well as the total time it took, in minutes and seconds, to solve the quiz.

And the player is informed that they are well on their way to becoming a junior nuclear safety representative.

Each student can type in their name and print results to hand in to the teacher.
